Match observations: The qualifying matches have given us more upsets and injuries than ever before. Before a stunned sellout crowd of 1,200 in the Manhattan Center, viewers all over the US saw Scott Norton avenge his losses to the Undertaker by pinning the Man in Black with his powerslam. IRS reinjured Razor Ramon's already bad left knee, which will keep the Bad Guy out of the Ring for at least six months. However, Ramon intends to honor his commitments until King of the Ring, where it has been determined he will face Dean "The Shooter" Malenko. One has to question Razor Ramon's intelligence, since it is well known that this will be a submission match, and if Razor is vulnerable to something, it's submissions. Be that as it may be, you can bet Malenko will be going for Razor's left knee. Diesel looks to be on his way back to the top. Remember that the winner of the King of the Ring tournament will get a title shot at the reigning WWF World Champion at SummerSlam. And didn't Paul Orndorff make an impressive return to the WWF ? He virtually dismantled the man who even Shawn Michaels couldn't beat lately, Marty Jannetty. If that is a sign for things to come, then don't rule out the veteran winning a title in the WWF sometime soon. What is Ted DiBiase up to ? He entered the ring out of nowhere and unscheduled accompanied by Jim Cornette and Yokozuna. DiBiase told the crowd that he had bought out Yokozuna's contract for a title shot at King of the Ring and that Bret Hart better kiss his belt goodbye for his latest aquisition is a multi-time world champion. As DiBiase walked off, Jim Cornette seized the mike and yelled at the MDM not to forget that should his man win, Yokozuna will be the first man in line for a title shot. DiBiase walked out of the Manhattan Center laughing, leaving Jim Cornette lost for words - something very, very hard to do, believe me.
