Match observations: 

Rob Van Dam is the new WWF World Champion and he's heading into Toronto to
face the former champion, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit. While Van Dam's win
didn't come unexpected, neither did Benoit's temper tantrum. Chris Benoit wants
to be in the Survivor Series War Games against the Horsemen - he made that 
clear at SummerSlam and it doesn't seem like he changed his mind. Can Chris
Benoit repeat his King of the Ring victory over Rob Van Dam ? We shall see. On a
side note, Van Dam was able to even the score with Al Snow by beating him 
tonight. Al Snow successfully defended the WWF Intercontinental Title against 
Rob Van Dam only a few months ago at WrestleMania. Now they're one for one.

Hollywood Hogan must be kicking himself right now. When he screwed The Rock out
of the King of the Ring tournament, he probably figured it was good riddance to
bad rubbish. Little did he know how miserable The Rock could make life for him.
Now Hogan is fuming and wants The Rock in the ring. However, Maivia - being the
master psychologist that he is - has turned down Hogan because his contract is
going to be revoked as of New Year's Eve thanks to Hogan. I can't wait to see
where this angle goes. One thing is for sure, though: The Rock completely 
blitzed The Undertaker with his backspin DDT leading to the second straight loss
for the Grim Reaper.

David Finlay's return to the ring after his lengthy layoff went fine - until
the point where Masato Tanaka started hitting him with clotheslines and lariats.
It seems as though he got fast-counted and it has been made clear that the two
will be rematched soon as there is lots of bad blood on Finlay's part.

Steve Williams and Stan Hansen made short work of the top contenders for the
WWF World Tag Team Titles, Bret Hart and Val Venis. Will Hart and Venis be able
to rebound from this crushing loss and take the titles away from Cactus Jack
and Sabu in their home territory ? In only a few weeks, we will know.

Shawn Michaels seems to be on his way back to the very top of the federation. He
scored a truly great win against the Japanese sensation Haybusa.
