Not only did we get a new Intercontinental Champion as anticipated, but the WWF World Title also changed hands. First things first, though. Brian Christopher, fresh off of his stunning defeat of Ric Flair, earned a hard-fought victory over wrestling legend Dean Malenko. Really nobody saw it coming but after close to twenty minutes of back-and-forth action, a new star was born. Christopher's semi-final opponent Hayabusa scored what likely was the most creative win in WWF history by performing a 450 degree splash against Ken Shamrock. That alone wouldn't really have been all that special but the fact that he did it from a chair certainly was. Hayabusa's high-risk flying proved to be his downfall eventually as Brian Christopher caught him after a 20-minute match and turned a chair-assisted Frankensteiner into a crushing power bomb for the 1-2-3. Kendo Ka Shin eventually proved to be the stopping block for Brian Christopher. Ka Shin, who had reached the finals through two exciting submission victories over Shinjiro Otani and Jushin Liger, submitted Christopher with his variation of the cross arm scissors. The story of the night, however, wasn't the IC title finals. It was Jushin Liger's victory over one Hollywood Hogan - completely unexpected and courtesy of none other than the Rock. Is it just me or is Rocky trying to get under Hogan's skin ? We shall see how things progress in that regard. WWF officials have announced that the team of Steve Williams and Stan Hansen will get a shot at the reigning WWF World Tag Team champions at our next Pay Per View, "In Your House: Redemption". This Pay Per View has been aptly named, as the former WWF champion Chris Benoit wants to redeem himself against the man who took the title away from him in a true wrestling clinic, Al Snow. We got counter and chain wrestling at its best as only the WWF can provide. We will be in the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta tomorrow night as Bret Hart and Val Venis try to bring home the WWF World Tag Team Titles ! Ken Shamrock will face the Undertaker in a non-title match ! We will have a top contenders match for the IC title shot at In Your House and Brian Christopher has told us that he has a special challenge for Hollywood Hogan. We're out of time ! See you tomorrow on RAW !
